The Cornwall SDG Business Enterprise Centre and Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce are thrilled to announce the 2nd Annual International Women’s Day High Tea on March 7, 2025. The event will take place at the Cornwall Civic Complex, Salons ABC from 11:00am to 2:30pm.
The International Women’s Day High Tea aims to celebrate the achievements of female entrepreneurs and provide support for women-owned businesses in the region. The event will offer a unique opportunity for women entrepreneurs to network, gain insights, and be inspired by industry leaders.
“The feedback from last year was so positive that we knew this had to become an annual event,” said Angela Bero, General Manager of the Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce.
This year’s event will feature keynote speaker, Karla Briones, serial entrepreneur and founder of Immigrant Entrepreneur Canada (IEC). As an immigrant entrepreneur herself, Karla draws from her personal experiences to engage and empower women and immigrants to acquire, start, and scale their ventures.
“Karla offers a wealth of business knowledge and stands as a remarkable example of female and immigrant entrepreneurship,” said Kat Rendek, Cornwall SDG Business Enterprise Centre. “Her experiences and the stories from clients highlight the potential for new business in Eastern Ontario.”
As a special treat, Karla will also add her voice to an exciting panel of female entrepreneurs working and thriving in Cornwall, SDG Counties, Akwesasne. Confirmed panelists include:
The International Women’s Day High Tea is open to all women entrepreneurs, business professionals, and individuals interested in supporting women-owned businesses.
Tickets are available online through TicketPro or in-person at the Aquatic Centre Box Office.
We know many attendees will be small business owners or freelancers, so we are offering a sliding scale “sugar” price for tickets to help make this event accessible to everyone.

New to this year’s event will be the inaugural “She Inspires” Business Excellence Award, as part of the Chamber’s BEA collection.
“The Chamber has been looking for a meaningful way to honour female leadership in our community and this unique event feels like the perfect opportunity to launch our new award and celebrate our homegrown talent,” explained Ms. Bero.
