Upper Canada Migratory Bird Sanctuary, Ingleside | South Stormont

Annually, the Friends of the Sanctuary organize a winter program spanning from the weekend following New Year’s Day to the final weekend in March. Dedicated volunteers are stationed at the Visitor Centre every Saturday and Sunday, welcoming visitors from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m.

The trails cater to individuals of all skill levels, providing a welcoming environment for beginners and experts alike. Specially designated trails for cross-country skiing undergo regular grooming and track setting. Additionally, alternative trails are open for those interested in snowshoeing and hiking.

Feel free to drop by, take a break, enjoy refreshments, and engage in friendly conversations at the Visitor Centre. There, you’ll find a variety of informative displays about the Sanctuary to enhance your visit. And don’t forget the bird seed! Those sweet little feathered friends have grown accustomed to human presence. With a bit of luck, you might experience a delightful moment as some of these friendly birds land directly on your outstretched hand!
