Convince us you are “The One” for SDG Counties with a video submission and a 50-word essay describing why we should choose you.

We will pay one winner up to $1500 per month, for a 12 month period to live and work here in Stormont, Dundas or Glengarry. Only one winner will be chosen. People already living in Stormont, Dundas, Glengarry or Cornwall, Ontario, are ineligible to apply. Winner who is moving into SDG can be in a rental, or purchasing a home. Winner can either work locally or remotely.

Application must be submitted through the form below with all required fields (marked with *). The application must be composed as a 1 minute video (with approximately 50 words), and submitted as a video link (ex. YouTube, Vimeo etc.) Video files are not permitted. Contest Terms

What do we ask of our winner?

We ask that you create two (2) blog posts per month to be shared on the SDG Tourism and SDG Counties social media accounts and website, and any other media platforms approved by SDG Counties highlighting your experiences living in SDG Counties.

• Must be willing to be photographed and interviewed in relation to this contest.
• Must be willing to live within the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry for at minimum, 12 consecutive months, between November 2022 and January 2024.

How to enter?

Submit a video entry detailing what you hope to discover in SDG Counties and why the selection committee should choose you. The video should be prepared in English and must be no longer than one minute in length. Videos must be submitted as Youtube links within the application form on this page here.

Eligibility Criteria:

Contest is open to applications from August 8th, 2022 to November 1, 2022.

Participation is open only to persons that are:

• Legal residents of Canada
• Are eighteen (18) years or older as of the date of entry
• All Participants must have access to the Internet and have an email account.
• Must not currently be living within the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas or Glengarry, or the City of Cornwall, as of August 8th, 2022 through November 1, 2022.
• Must be willing to participate in media campaigns surrounding this contest.
• The winning applicant will be asked to create at minimum two (2) blog posts per month about their experience living in SDG Counties. These posts will be shared by SDG Counties on their various content platforms, including social media.
• Applicants must complete the required application form and submit a 50-word essay and a one-minute length video on why they should be selected. Videos must be uploaded to Youtube and submitted as links within the online application form on this page here.
• The winner of this contest will be selected by a committee. The winner will be eligible to receive up to a maximum of $1,500 per month, for up to 12 consecutive months, towards the cost of rent, accrued while living within the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry, as a result of this contest.
  Retroactive expenses will not be accepted.
• If the winning applicant ceases to be a permanent resident within the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry within their one-year stay, they will no longer be eligible for the monthly compensation of $1,500 per month, for up to a maximum of 12 consecutive months, related to this contest.
• The applicant must be living within the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry for 12 consecutive months between the period of November 2022 and January 2024.
• If the winning applicant chooses to purchase a home, rather than rent a property within the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry, they will be eligible to receive up to $1,500 per month for that cost, in lieu of rent.
• The United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry are not to be named on any rental or purchase agreement related to the accommodations of the winning applicant. In no event will the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry be liable for any damages or losses of any kind to the property being rented by the applicant for the duration of their stay in SDG Counties.
• Monies will be given directly to the applicant upon proof of monthly accommodations. In the event that the applicant chooses to live in accommodations that cost more than $1,500 per month to rent, the applicant will be responsible for paying the difference. The applicant is further responsible for any damages to said property and for any additional expenses incurred.
• Free to apply. Applications can only be made at datemycounty.ca (this page).
• Taxes may apply to the contest prize.

Start/ End Dates: Contest begins at 8 AM (Eastern Time) on August 8th, 2022 and ends at 12:00 PM (Eastern Time) on November 1, 2022. (“Contest Period”).
