It’s that time of the year; Doors Open has arrived! Doors Open is a two-day event happening this August 15th and 16th across the Counties, in which twenty-eight sites will open their doors granting free access to visitors. You can expect to see historic buildings, museums, churches, cultural landmarks, and more. Some locations are also not regularly open to the public, meaning you get exclusive access!

For your convenience, we have organized the participating locations into five itinerary sections:

Cornwall

With thirteen stops, the Cornwall Route has the most participating sites! Once you arrive at the first stop at the Historic SDG Jail, most stops will be within walking distance. Visit some of the historic sites, studios, and churches as you stroll around town!

North Glengarry

North Glengarry hosts the beautiful Art & History Loop, featuring three historic sites. Begin your day with two walkable stops in Alexandria, then take a scenic twenty-minute drive to Dunvegan.

South Glengarry

Embark on the Heritage Route in South Glengarry! Visit six stops from Williamstown, St. Andrews, and Lancaster, touring by foot and car. Learn about the storied history of Glengarry, and the many traditions it holds.

This Doors Open weekend, embark on the Family Route! Along the beautiful St. Lawrence River, visit seven sites on the way from Cornwall to Iroquois. On this route, enjoy interactive displays, walking trails, and fascinating heritage buildings.

North & South Dundas

In North & South Dundas, enjoy the Heritage Drive! This drive takes you all over the County, bringing you from the St. Lawrence River to the rolling countryside. Visit cherished heritage sites, as you learn about the history of the area.
