The Glengarry Pioneer Museum is closed and the snow shovel is waiting in anticipation for what is soon to come. What could possibly be happening at the museum, you ask? Well, the museum is joining the festive spirit that seems to be rising steadily each week by hosting a Christmas one-of-a kind Market this Saturday, December 2nd from 10am until 4pm. Entry is FREE!
Local vendors will be selling everything from baked goods and crafts, to handmade silver jewelry or ironware made by a Blacksmith. Dunvegan Gold Maple Syrup, local honey, Stonehouse Vineyard, lavender products, soaps and more. There also promises to be lots of fresh green wreaths, festive pots and garland to help with your decorating needs. It’s also your last chance to make purchases from the museum’s gift shop.
If you are worried about the cold, dress warmly and be relieved to know that the covered Williams Pavilion will have outdoor heaters and be enclosed with our new vinyl curtains to protect it from the elements. Once you are done shopping, warm up by getting some hot apple cider or hot chocolate, roast a marshmallow around a fire, then wander the grounds for the best photo op.
Once you are done at the museum, go the short distance down the street to the Dunvegan Recreation Association to check out the always unique items for sale by historical craftspeople – ironware, teas, woodworking, garlic, baked goods and more.
It’s the perfect opportunity to get into the festive spirit and support local artisans from your community. Come check out all that’s happening in Dunvegan THIS Saturday!!
