Try It! Rug Hooking Workshop with instructor Louise Leblanc Mazur and Jane Desjardins. Here’s your chance to give this beautiful artform a try!Rug hooking is a traditional craft that was born out of necessity. Come and learn about the history of rug hooking and create and complete a small rug hooking design. You will practice the basics and then apply your new skills to your project. Included in this workshop are copies of designs you can transfer, the linen to hook on, a hoop, a hook, and different materials you can use to complete your design.
- Ages 12 and up. However, it is recommended that ages 12-14 be accompanied by an adult.
- 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
- It will take place in the pavilion on the museum grounds
- Light refreshments will be provided. You are welcome to come early to explore the museum.
- All materials are provided to keep, including a hoop, hook, linen with design and a variety of yarns and wool strips.
- Maximum of 15 participants, so register early!
