Popular across the USA and Canada, Story Slam is now in Cornwall at the Glengarrian Pub! Join us on Monday, March 3, at 7 PM as an audience member or a storyteller.

What Happens at Story Slam?

Do you have a story to share? A wild tale to tell? Then step up to the mic! Up to 10 storytellers will compete for top honors, sharing their best stories based on the month’s theme.

This Month’s Theme:

“Bad Advice”

Story Slam Rules

Stories must be original, based on the theme, and no longer than 5 minutes. No props, costumes, or musical accompaniment allowed. Bring a written version if needed.

• Know the first and last sentences of your story.
• Sign up in person starting at 7 PM. Names are drawn randomly.
• Only 10 storytellers get to perform.
• No poetry, rants, or hate speech—**it’s a STORY!**

Prizes

• 1st Place: $25 Glen Gift Card
• 2nd Place: $15 241 Pizza Gift Card
• Secret Word Prize: Awarded to the first story to include a chosen word.
• Line of the Night: Prize for the best one-liner of the night.

Judging Criteria

Judges score stories 1-10 based on:

• How well it fits the theme.
• Is it a complete story (beginning, middle, end)?
• Engaging, natural delivery.
• Time limit (grace period: 30 seconds; penalties after 5:30).

Timing is signaled with cards: yellow at 3:30, red at 4:30, gong at 6:00**.
